Cost Transformation

Every riyal should be able to explain what it buys.

We give leaders a clear view of where money goes and what it returns, then redirect spend from what the organization has outgrown toward what its strategy needs next.

01The challenge

Cost hides in the spaces between budgets.

Spend is spread across budgets, entities, contracts and technology estates that were never designed as a whole. Licenses outlive the systems they were bought for. Contracts renew on terms nobody revisited. Technology appears in the accounts as a single line no business owner recognizes. When the baseline is unclear, every efficiency effort turns into a debate about whose numbers are right.

Across-the-board cuts are the usual response, and they seldom last. They remove capacity the strategy depends on and leave the structural causes of cost in place, so spend drifts back within a few budget cycles. Durable efficiency starts with transparency: a shared fact base, cost connected to the services it supports, and a governance rhythm that asks what each line of spend is for.

02Our approach

How we put the cost base to work.

  1. One reconciled view of spend

We trace every line of spend, across entities, suppliers and categories, to the service it pays for. Once finance and operations accept one baseline, the discussion turns to where the money should go next.

  2. Value recovered from existing contracts

The cheapest savings sit in commitments already signed. We read contract terms, supplier performance and license entitlements against actual use, recover value the organization has paid for and not received, and prepare each renewal as a decision with evidence behind it.

  3. An independent test for major investments

We review major investment portfolios at arm’s length from the teams that proposed them, testing each case, its delivery risk and its expected return. The board gains a sound basis to continue, reshape or stop, and to release capital for higher-value work.

  4. Budgets rebuilt from the work

We cost each service, channel and segment from the activity behind it. Where zero-based budgeting fits, budgets are then rebuilt line by line from what the organization must deliver, and last year’s figure stops being the starting point.

  5. Technology spend in business terms

We trace technology costs through to the applications, services and business units that consume them. Business leaders can then see what their demand costs, and the technology budget is planned against that demand like any other operating cost.

03Outcomes

What leaders gain.

  • A fact base everyone accepts

Finance, procurement, technology and the business work from the same numbers, so meetings move from reconciling data to making decisions.

  • Capacity to reinvest

Released funds move into strategic priorities, and the executive committee sees every reallocation as it happens.

  • Spend with an owner

Every material cost line connects to a service, an outcome and an accountable executive.

  • Savings that stay saved

Budgeting and governance habits keep cost aligned with value year after year, so the next efficiency drive never has to be an emergency.

04Our perspective

The most reliable source of funding for a new strategy is the cost base you already have.

We treat efficiency as a strategic exercise. Every line of spend faces one test: does it serve where the organization is going? Spend that fails the test is released, and the capacity it frees moves to the priorities the board has already chosen. Done well, cost discipline is how a strategy pays for itself.
