Integrated care depends on what patients never see.

The Kingdom is reorganizing how care is funded, delivered and governed. GTech concentrates on what decides whether that reform reaches the patient: data that moves between settings, operating models that join institutions, and tools clinicians trust enough to use.

01Context

A system moving from facilities to populations.

Under the Health Sector Transformation Program, Saudi healthcare is shifting from a network of facilities to a system accountable for the health of whole populations. Provision is being organized into regional health clusters, the Ministry of Health is concentrating on regulation and purchasing, and private providers are being invited to take a larger share of delivery. A national biotechnology strategy, meanwhile, aims to build vaccine, biomanufacturing and genomics capability at home. Each change redraws lines of authority, funding and accountability that took decades to form.

The ambition is integrated care: prevention, primary care, hospitals and care at home working as one continuum, with virtual care extending its reach. Whether it arrives depends on what sits beneath the clinical surface. Patient data has to follow the patient. Operating models have to hold across institutions, and clinicians have to trust the systems they are asked to use. Most of the difficulty lies there. So does most of the value.

02Priorities

What the health agenda now demands.

  • Handovers that hold

Designing pathways that carry patients from primary to hospital to community care without losing information, time or accountability at each transfer.

  • One view of the patient

Building shared records, master data and interoperability standards so clinicians, payers, planners and researchers work from the same facts, within national data and privacy rules.

  • Clusters that run as enterprises

Giving regional clusters the governance, shared services and management information to operate as accountable organizations, with authority over budget and workforce to match.

  • Ready for value-based payment

Preparing providers for purchasing models that reward outcomes and efficiency. That starts with knowing the true cost of each service line and episode of care.

03Our approach

How we help reform reach the patient.

  1. Operating models for integrated care

We design the decision rights and governance that let hospitals and primary care networks act as one system within a cluster, and support implementation while the new model takes hold.

  2. Health data and interoperability

We put in place the governance, quality controls and integration that make clinical, claims and operational data fit to share. Privacy and security enter at the first architecture decision.

  3. Digital and virtual care at scale

We help providers turn telehealth, remote monitoring and digital front doors into routine services, with the platforms, workflows and clinical adoption that scale demands. AI follows where governance is ready to carry it.

  4. Patient and clinician experience

We trace care as patients and staff live it, from booking and referral to discharge, then redesign the steps that cost them the most time and confidence. Lifting administrative load from clinicians is part of the brief.
