Operations & Enterprise Platforms

A platform amplifies whatever process it inherits.

Enterprise platforms promise integrated operations and too often deliver expensive copies of old habits. We help leaders redesign how work flows across the organization, then select, implement and connect the platforms that run it, and keep them performing once the program team has gone.

01The challenge

The core is carrying too much history.

A large organization typically runs on platforms acquired over decades: an ERP customized beyond recognition, several CRM instances, document repositories nobody fully trusts, and integrations built one request at a time. Every one of them had a sponsor and a business case at the time. Together they make every change slow and every upgrade a risk, and no one can see a process from end to end.

Leaders experience this as operational drag. Approvals wait in inboxes, staff re-key data between systems, and service commitments depend on workarounds that live in individual heads. New platform programs promise relief, yet many repeat the pattern by automating the very process they were meant to fix, and by treating go-live as the finish line.

02Our approach

How we make the core run better.

  1. Process before platform

We map how work actually flows, where it waits and where it is duplicated, then redesign processes and controls around service outcomes before any technology is chosen.

  2. Workflow in place of workarounds

Service levels seldom fail inside the core system. They fail in email chains, paper files and shared folders. We move high-volume work onto tracked workflows, with each document stored once and open to everyone entitled to it, so any request can show where it is and how long it has waited.

  3. One integration layer

Every direct link between two systems solves one problem and makes the next change harder. We replace them with a shared integration layer, expose data through managed interfaces, and modernize or retire legacy systems in an order that keeps daily operations running.

  4. ERP and CRM, close to standard

We help choose a platform by how well its standard processes fit the redesigned work, then lead an implementation that changes the organization’s habits before it changes the software. Every customization request needs a business owner and a reason the standard process cannot meet.

  5. Managed services with a mandate to improve

Go-live is when a platform starts to earn its cost. We can run enterprise applications after launch under service levels tied to business performance, with an improvement backlog agreed each quarter and your own team taking on more of the work as its confidence grows.

03Outcomes

What changes in the operation.

  • Processes you can see end to end

Leaders can follow any transaction across functions and know where it is, who owns it and why it is waiting.

  • Each upgrade easier than the last

Redundant systems and licenses retire, point-to-point links give way to reusable services, and the estate costs less to carry each year.

  • Capacity returned to the front line

Automation absorbs routine handling, and staff spend their time on judgment, exceptions and service.

  • Value that grows after launch

Each core application has an owner and a roadmap, so it keeps improving well beyond the original program.

04Our perspective

Adopt standard practice wherever it is good enough. Customize only where it sets you apart.

Heavy customization feels like control at the start of a program and becomes a tax at every upgrade that follows. We push for standard processes in the back office and concentrate design effort on the few areas where service, risk or competitive position depends on doing things differently. The result is an estate that costs less to run and changes faster.
