AI governance and adoption

AI Center of Excellence

AI at scale, with the risk known and the value shown.

The AI Center of Excellence is GTech’s AI office. It keeps an inventory of every AI use case, sorts each into a risk tier with the approvals it needs, builds the skills to deliver and use AI well, and reports the value AI creates and what it costs to run.

Highlights

  • Every AI use case in one inventory, with its owner and risk tier
  • Approvals and responsible-use rules in proportion to the risk
  • AI value and run cost reported, use case by use case

01The challenge

Pilots multiply; value and accountability do not.

Most organizations now run AI in more places than they can list. Pilots start in every department, vendors add AI to the tools already in use, and staff use public tools on their own. Few can say which use cases exist, who owns them, what data they touch and what they return.

Leadership is asked to trust AI it cannot see, and regulators expect controls that nobody has defined. AI needs an office that knows every use case, governs it in proportion to its risk and proves its value.

02What the office does

Capability, risk and value in one office.

The AI Center of Excellence brings together the inventory, the rules and the people that let AI scale responsibly.

  • AI inventory

Every AI use case, model and AI-enabled tool in one register, with its owner, purpose, data and status.

  • Risk tiers and approvals

Each use case placed in a risk tier, with the reviews, testing and sign-offs that tier requires before and after it goes live.

  • Responsible use

Policies for fairness, transparency, privacy and human oversight, written for the people who build and use AI.

  • AI skills

Learning paths for leaders, builders and everyday users, so AI is used well and not only allowed.

  • Value and run cost

The return of each use case against its case for investment, and what it costs to run, reviewed regularly.

03How it starts

Stood up with your team, then run by it.

  1. Discover

Find the AI already in use, its owners and its data, and the opportunities worth pursuing first.

  2. Govern

Agree the risk tiers, approvals and responsible-use rules with leadership, legal and risk.

  3. Deliver

Take priority use cases from pilot to production through the office, with value measured from launch.

  4. Transfer

GTech runs the office alongside your team until your people run it on their own.

04Why it pays

AI that leadership can see, trust and fund.

  • Nothing hidden

One inventory replaces guesswork: leadership knows where AI runs and who answers for it.

  • Controls in proportion

Low-risk use cases move quickly; high-risk ones get the scrutiny they need.

  • Funding follows value

Use cases that return keep their budget, and the rest are fixed or closed.

  • Connected to the command center

AI inventory, risk tiers, approvals, value and run cost flow into ECC 360 and HECC 360, and model drift or rejected results open actions for their owners.

05Editions

Built for your sector’s expectations.

The office carries the controls and vocabulary of the sector it serves.

  • Government and public sector

For ministries and authorities aligning AI use with national AI ethics principles and data rules.

  • Healthcare

For health groups using AI in clinical and operational work, with clinical safety and patient privacy in the risk tiers.

  • Financial services

For banks and insurers with model risk management, explainability and regulatory reporting built in.

Turn AI pilots into governed value.

A working session maps the AI already in use in your organization and shows how the AI Center of Excellence would govern and grow it.
